Local Monitoring

SOFLAG has received a grant from Project Groundwater to enable it to develop a monitoring network for river, groundwater and flood levels. This will include a series of gauge boards in rivers, gardens and allotments that will be monitored during floods by local residents. A new borehole has already been drilled for measuring groundwater levels. It will have a sensor installed that will allow live groundwater levels to be telemetered. The data that come from the gauge boards and from the sensor in the borehole will appear here, along with advice on how to interpret what it means for the status of an ongoing flood.
